My Very Own List

So Rene posts the most awesome lists- and doesn't copying mean that you like your big sister's idea? But of course. Here's my new list of some things I like this year!
We are currently in the trial period of our new Netflix subscription! We don't have any sort of TV service and so we only get to watch current shows online with HULU (which is another thing I love). But thousands of Netflix movies stream straight to our PS3 and we can watch them in a matter of seconds- just like we had brought home a dvd! And it's like $8 a month. I love it! Oh and we can get the dvd's sent to our home because not all great movies are available for online streaming. Yay for cheap and awesome entertainment!
This is a Bosch blender. I love it because when I get hungry I drop some frozen peaches into this thing with some milk and juice and protein powder and it blends it up like a $6 smoothie! Yummmm!
So my ward is made up of the newly wed and the nearly dead- you're young or you're young at heart! So our Sunday school program has been split into the two age groups. I am one of two teachers in my age group and I absolutely love it! This year we are studying the New Testament and it has already been so great. My first lesson from here was so special and helpful to me and let's just say that is was a lot easier to teach than some of those lessons in the Old Testament! I am so excited to see what I can learn from these scriptures!!
My car is a piece of junk and would most certainly be on my list of "Dislikes" but I decided to put this new car as my "like". With 50 mpg and a price tag under $13,000- it's definitely on my wish list.
Of course the new year has brought realization of my current scale reading and so it's back to eating healthy and trying to change my lifestlye- again. But fruit leather is the perfect thing for me. There's the fruit roll ups brand "Simply fruit" or a box (don't know the brand and I'm too lazy to go to the cupboard and find out) of several different flavors at Costco. I eat one of these in the morning or afternoon for a snack when I'm feeling particularly sugar-hungry!

Candid Candy

Just thought I'd share how cute my little guy is. And so smart too! He can now sing several songs- though he only sings the last word in the phrases, but he hums entires melodies to himself as he tries to go to sleep. It's so adorable because I know which songs he is singing! So it's like this...
Mom: Twinkle twinkle little
PW: Star (right on pitch and everything!)
Mom: How I wonder what you
PW: Are
Well you get the picture. So he can sing Twinkle Twinkle, I am a Child of God (two verses), Itsy Bitsy Spider (in spanish), Happy Birthday (the whole song), ABCs- almost every letter, and A Child's Prayer.
And to make things even sweeter he has been saying nearly everything we say for the past couple of months. Every word is a good candidate for his next favorite word. "Mine" was big for a couple of days and "Get down" comes out every time he climbs onto something he knows he shouldn't be climbing on (like the TV for example!). Things just keep getting better and better and he gets smarter and more clever. And more independent and crazy! He's such a joy to have around! And so darn cute too!

Merry Christmas!

I had so much fun decorating this year. It was our first year in our own place! My mom helped me cultivate my creative side- which is not very dominant. So here's how our house looked to celebrate Christmas! And these are my boys after we opened presents! Our guard dog for the presents- since our tree was only three feet tall!
Thanks to a Costco case of yummy Mexican coca cola!

I got to go to Colorado with my parents for my niece's baby blessing! It was so fun. Peewee and I had a hard time in the car but we made it with only two stops on the way there and one longer one on the way home! He was great!
Once we got there Uncle Shae took us straight to the park. It was perfect. I got to spend a little quality time with Ella. Conley and Polo just decided to stare at each other and growl. (Since there we so many awesome pictures from this trip I had a hard time deciding which to put on. And well I just thought since this is my blog then I should put pics of my son and me and our time there!) He obviously did not want to be a part of Grandma's cousin photo!
My big brother Shae!! He was so fun and welcoming. I loved being there with him!
I ended up stealing this one a lot. She is adorable!

The boys warmed up to each other a little :)

Cathy made so much yummy food! The kids all played together so well. Emmalene and her family came up too and we all had tons of fun. With all those kids around we "grown ups" went to bed at 10:00 every night! They helped Papa waterproof the fence.
They had some good talks on the back porch.
And Polo hung out at the old state penitentiary in Wymoing! What a trouble maker!

Baby Violette was so beautiful and I'm so glad I got to meet her. That was really a fun trip and I miss everybody again!

Halloween Costume Idea Lapse

So I thought of the coolest Halloween costume- just a little too late. So for next year I am going to be... Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games! I plan to recreate her mockingjay dress from the second book "Cathing Fire". This dress was originally a wedding dress and the one she wears to the interview. When she lifts her arms in the air and spins it turns black and is covered in feathers. It has sleaves that go all the way to the floor with a low neckline and a tight waist. The whole thing is dramatically black of course, except for a small patch on each of her shoulders that is white, like the wings of the mockingjay!! Ok so I am a total nerd but this thing is going to be awesome to wear and probably even more fun to make! Good luck to me!

Zoo....ology

PW's first trip to the zoo. He can make a really good elephant sound and proudly calls the rhinos "ninos." Jake and I had fun seeing how many good shots we could take. We were loving that PW was completely enthralled for more than two hours straight.

I guess I must be growing...

Jumping on my Elmo bed playing with new zoo wall decals from Grandma (lasts about 2 minutes)
Watching Elmo on sesamestreet.org or the Elmopalooza movie (he'll stare at Elmo til the video stops)
Playing the bakeware (all objects are part of this makeshift drumset including counter, Bosch, bowl, tupperware, ceramic flour container, and anything that was left in his reach. Comes with 2 metal measuring spoons for drumsticks! Lasts for as long as it takes me to finish the recipe!)
Also the expanding vocaubulary is ever-growing. "Ball, teeth, Elmo, owie, belly button, eyes, nose," and on and on it goes! And he's getting so smart!

Momma says I'm growing...

Reading (consumes up to 15 minutes of his undivided attention- then he wants me to read to him)
Watching the cars go by as I fold the laundry (will last up to 30 minutes!)
Loving Blankie (this could go on forever)

Blah Blah Blah- What!?

So I have yet to get a video of this but here's the latest news. By his first birthday little Peewee could only say Dada and Mama. The doctor was a little concerned. Well he quickly added Papa to his vocabulary and we were thrilled- he could look at a picture of his Grandpas or watch them walk by and he would know that was Papa. On our nephew's birthday, the 15th, we all sang Happy Birthday and PW learned the word HAPPY. It was adorable. He ran around all night saying, "Happy, Happy, Happy!" Well just yesterday our little guy added three more words- "Go!" was a great one- because all boys need to know Ready, set, go! And of course "No no no no" finally came out perfectly. And then the best, most boyish word of all... "Cacapoopoo". Whenever we don't want him to touch the garbage or something nasty on the ground we'll say, "No no- it's cacapoopoo". Well that's what he decided to say. That doesn't mean he won't touch it though!!! Oh and even though he knows "Mama" he will never say it to me. He will just scream, tug, pull, cry or yell to get my attention. Honestly son, it would work better if you just said my name. Oh well!

Yee Haw!

The biggest thing on my mind here is to find $5 worth of change and see if I can buy a cowboy hat at the D.I. :) Thanks Uncle Jantz and Aunt Kelly for letting Peewee steal that horse!
